Risk Management on behalf of Deposit Protection
The Auditing Association’s services essentially contribute to detecting potential threats to deposit protection at participating banks and to counter any risks. Thus, the Association’s activities maintain the interests of private deposit protection and indirectly safeguard those of participating institutions. The Association thus contributes significantly to the protection of customer deposits and to stability and building trust in the private banking sector.
The Auditing Association is active in both the interests of the Deposit Protection Fund and on behalf of the Compensation Scheme of German Banks (EdB). Among the particular tasks of maintaining the interests of the Deposit Protection Fund are the performance of deposit protection audits, implementation of admission and ownership control procedures as well as assumption of further activities for deposit protection within risk management.
The Association performs audits on behalf of the Compensation Scheme of German Banks (EdB) under the provisions of the Deposit Guarantee Act (EinSiG) on institutions, which are exclusively members of the private banks’ statutory Deposit Protection Scheme.
