Deposit Protection Service Provider

The Auditing Association of German Banks is an important component of the private banking sector deposit protection system. Its activities considerably contribute to maintaining the stability and strengthening the competitiveness of the financial community (in general) and the private banks (in particular).

The Auditing Association currently comprises some 200 member institutions, which participate in the private banking sector's Deposit Protection Fund voluntarily. Through the German Banks Compensation Scheme the Auditing Association is also entrusted with auditing some 50 credit institutions which participate exclusively in statutory deposit protection.

The Auditing Association was founded in 1969. It is officially registered in Cologne. In addition to the Auditing Association itself the overall organisation includes four associated companies.
